Systems Approach is a very popular approach for creating knowledge and being a researcher/consultant/investigator is systems approach. Following are the few terminologies applicable in systems approach.
- Synergy: Effects in a reality (or model) that mean that the total is not the same as the sum of the parts.
- Teleology: Purposefulness
- Finality (dynamic teleology): Purposefulness over a period of time.
- Systems Language: A terminology developed according to the systems approach.
- System: A number of component and relations among them.
- Open Systems: Systems that have connections to their environment.
- Closed systems: Systems without connections to their environment.
- Systems environment: The surroundings of a system.
- Real systems: The object of a system study.
- Systems model: The reproduction of this model.
- Systems components: Parts of systems.
- Subsystems: Systems that are parts of larger systems.
- Supersystems: Systems that contain smaller systems.
- Magnifying level: The degree of details in a systems analysis (or construction).
- Systems relations: The connection among the components of a system.
- Systems structure: Fixed, stable characteristics (static structure) and regular processes (dynamic structure).
- Systems process: Courses of events of both regular and non-regular kind.
- Systems perspective: Structural and/or processual.
- Systems analysis: Description, explanation, and (possibly) understanding of an existing real system.
- Systems construction: Building a new system.
- Systems theory: Systems models and /or producer-product relations that are valid for more than one real system.
