Reality Assumption

Analytical philosophy's assumption of quality of reality is that, the whole is the sum of it's parts. This means that once the researcher gets to know the different parts of the whole, the parts can be added together to get the total picture.

Knowledge created using Analytical approach is characterized as being independent of the observer.

The assumption behind the systems approach, different from the assumption underlying the the analytical approach, is that reality is arranged in such a way that the whole differs from sum of it's parts.

If we say that the whole is understood by characteristics of it's parts, we bring into picture the third approach known as the actors approach.

The Above three are the basic methodological approaches in Research.
